Allie Dean Grinstead, 75, of Butlerville, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 27, 1942 in Celina, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Calep and Irene Cassie Dale Wheeldon Key. She married William Eugene Grinstead on March 27, 1969 in Vernon and he survives. Allie worked in the laundry department at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, retiring in May 1998 after 30 years. She was a member of the Otter Creek Baptist Church in Nebraska and enjoyed fishing, western square dancing, sewing and crocheting, and spending time with family. She was proud of having ridden a motorcycle in every state.

Surviving with her husband William Grinstead are two sons, Bradley Dean Reed of Butlerville and Randy Eugene Grinstead of Middlesex, North Carolina; daughter Kelli Reed of North Vernon; brother David (Sandy) Wheeldon of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and ten great children.

Allie was preceded in death by her parents, sons Martin Troy Reed and Carl Keith Reed, stepfather Dave Wheeldon, sisters Betty Louise Hunt and Sally Stainbrook, and grandson Josh Dean Reed.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Marvin Wright officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek St. Anne Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Hospital
