Mary Alice (Hallawell) Losey

Mary Alice Losey, 90, of North Vernon passed away at 5:52 p.m.  on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Premier Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Born March 31, 1927 in North Vernon, Mrs. Losey was the daughter of William and Mildred I. Hartle Hallawell. She married Paul E. Losey on June 29, 1952 in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on March 26, 2008.

Mrs. Losey was a 1945 graduate of North Vernon High School and had worked as the Office Clerk for Public Service Electric Company and Camp Atterbury.  She was a member of the North Vernon United Methodist Church and Smiling Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending church, going out to eat on Friday’s and having her great-grandchildren come and see her.

She is survived by her sons, David (Charlene) Losey of North Vernon and John (Marcia) Losey of Franklin; daughter Rebecca Jordan of Indianapolis;  brother, Robert (Tressia) Hallawell of North Vernon; grandchildren, Tara Losey of Butlerville and Grant (Julie) Staublin of Williamstown, Massachusetts; great-grandchildren,  Arabella and Oliva Losey both of Butlerville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Charles Hallawell.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon with the Rev. Marvin Sweet officiating. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church.
