Douglas Ray “Doug” Brown, 50, of North Vernon, passed away on April 23, 2024, at his residence.
Born August 24, 1973, in Madison, West Virginia, he was the son of Mike and Barb (Cook) Wolfe. He married Megan Biehle on August 28, 2021, in Jennings County; she survives.
Doug was a 1991 graduate of Sharples, West Virginia High School and served in the United States Army from 1991-1995. He worked as a Quality Manager for Alberts in North Vernon and had worked for Cozy Table in Bloomington. Doug served on the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Doug enjoyed riding his Harley, golfing, watching football, playing poker and fantasy football on the Bad Beat Basement League. He loved spending time with his family and coaching the kids at baseball.
Surviving with his wife, Megan; are his sons, Lucas Booher and Carter Mason; his daughters, Summer Bruce and Brooklyn Mason; parents, Mike and Barb Wolfe; sisters, Misty Avrams, Shawna Durlacher and Rhonda Carlin; nieces and nephews, Sierra Wolfe, Brayden Wolfe, Jacob Wolfe and Dylan Daugherty.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jackie Foster; uncle, Paul Cook; and grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Cook.
A funeral service for Doug will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Al Davisson officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W.
Memorials may be made in honor of Doug through the funeral home for expenses.
