Barbara Jean England Golden

Barbara Jean England Golden, 76, North Vernon died Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born October 18, 1942 in Garden City, Barbara was the daughter of Ledford H. and Helen J. (Sisco) England. She married Thomas Golden in June of 1961 in North Vernon; he preceded her in death in July of 2001.

Barbara worked as a health care provider for Jennings Rehab/DSI and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed art, baking, flowers, reading, poetry, reading, listening to oldies and gospel music and she loved her pet, Susie.

Barbara is survived by her son, Gregory L. Golden of North Vernon; daughter, Leisa D. Golden Trapp of Austintown, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Golden of North Vernon; sister, Diana R. (Rick) Mackey of Columbus; grandchildren, Robby (Angela) Dalrymple of Alabama, Donny Grigsby, Aaron (Melissa) Golden, Devin Golden, Andrew Golden, Paul Shane, and Jamie (Odi) Buchannan, all of North Vernon; great-grandchildren, Jackson Dalrymple and Jaden Dalrymple, both of Alabama, Thorne Grigsby of Seymour, Gibson Golden, Donny Grigsby Jr., Arionna Golden, and Brayden Golden, all of North Vernon, and Isaiah Tungett of Louisville; great-great-grandchildren, Isabelle Dalrymple and Dylan Dalrymple, both of Alabama; nephews and niece, Dallas E. England and Chera Bonta, both of Columbus, Bobby C. England of North Vernon, Jasiah Blayse Marshall, and other nephews and nieces.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Thomas L. Golden; and brother, Dallas L. England.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
