Beau Geste Bailey

Beau Geste Bailey, 86, of Madison, passed away at 9:19 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017 at his residence.

Born October 26, 1930 in Bel Air, Maryland, Mr. Bailey was the son of the late Camton and Lena Russel Bailey. He married Lenora Pitts on August 6, 1960 in Maryland; she preceded him in death on April 3, 2010.

Mr. Bailey was a 1948 graduate of Dublin High School in Maryland, he served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953. Mr. Bailey retired from the former Regal Rugs in North Vernon in 1996, he was a lifelong farmer, and he enjoyed construction, woodworking, and remodeling homes. Mr. Bailey was a former member of the V.F.W.

He is survived by his sons, Mark (Jean) Bailey of Butlerville and Michael (Julie) Bailey of Angleton, Texas; daughters, Susan Bailli of Madison and Ann Jones of North Vernon; grandchildren, Travis (Kayla) Josephson of Butlerville, Stephanie (Brandon) Reeves and Matthew Bailey both of Madison and Dawn Spaulding of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, Joe and Kyle Bailey and sister, Georgia Knight.

A funeral service for Mr. Bailey will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Clifton Hartley officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jennings County.

Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of Jennings County or Ebenezer United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
