Bertha JoAnn Hanner, 69, of Commiskey passed away at 5:12 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Born August 9, 1949, in Seymour, she was the daughter of James E. and Frances (Cornett) Lamb. She married Jack Hanner on February 4, 2001 in Commiskey; he survives.
Mrs. Hanner worked assembly line for Aisin in Seymour for 8 years before retiring and had previously worked as a cashier for Walmart in North Vernon and Seymour and as a cook for Kimberly Lake. She was a member of Solid Rock Church in Scottsburg, Smiling Senior Citizens in North Vernon and the North Vernon Senior Center. Mrs. Hanner enjoyed reading, eating, spending time with her family and listening to gospel music.
Surviving with her husband, Jack Hanner, are sons, Jacob (Sheila) Campbell of Commiskey, Joe (Pam) Campbell of North Vernon; step-children, Tim Hanner, and Kevin Hanner, and Terri Jo (Bobby) McDole, of Freetown; brothers, James (Virginia) Lamb of Butlerville, Robert (Teresa) Stout of New Palestine, and James Taylor (Emma) Lamb of Austin; sisters, Mary (Steve) Combs of Scipio, Elsie (Kenny) Rush of New Palestine, JoAnn “Jo” (Dale) Burton of North Vernon, Paulette (Richard) Hammons of Uniontown, Pat Isaacs of New Palestine and Carma (Charley) Akers of Deputy; brother-in-law, Don (Pearl) Hanner, sister-in-law, Portia Lamb of Commiskey; grandchildren, Tera Jones, Zack Campbell, and Dakota Campbell all of North Vernon, Sara Campbell of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Destyni Jones, and Emma Jones, both of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sharon Ivey and brothers, William and Chester Lamb.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
