Charles William Clark

Charles William Clark, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born October 17, 1940, in Lawrenceburg, the son of the late Thomas C. Clark and Margaret (Ellison) Clark Block. He married Clara Louise Beam on November 11, 1967, at the Vernon Presbyterian Church in Vernon; she survives.

Charles was a 1960 graduate of Moores Hill High School in Moores Hill and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 until 1964. He worked at Walmart #1157 in North Vernon putting up stock for 10 years and had previously worked as a machinist for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 33 years before retiring in 1997. Charles was a member of the Moose Lodge in North Vernon and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, pitching horseshoes, traveling and spending time with his grandkids.

Surviving with his wife, Clara Clark; are sons, Jim (Andrea) Clark of Batesville, Tom (Kathy) Estes and Charles William “Bill” Clark Jr., both of North Vernon; daughter, Tina (Jeff) Yeager of Butlerville; half-sister, Debra (Jerry) Poulman of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Audrey Jane Clark of Muncie, Austin James Clark of Batesville, Troy Thomas Estes of Greenwood, Emma Kathleen Estes and Taylor Raymond Estes of North Vernon, Creighton Matthew (Amie) Napier of JBLM, Washington, Hunter Phillip Napier of Columbus and Jesyka Charliene Beeman of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Caden Lee Napier of Greensburg, Kennady Mae Lynn Napier, Jayce Matthew Dewayne Napier and Decklen William Thomas Napier all of JBLM, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-dad, Paul Block.

A funeral service for Mr. Clark will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating.  Family and friends may call 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in the Rush Branch Cemetery in Jennings County.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
