Danny Robert Daugherty

Danny Robert Daugherty, 69, of North Vernon passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Premier Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Born October 2, 1948, in Batesville, Indiana, the son of Robert and Anita Anderson Daugherty. He married Norma Pearson on April 30, 1980 at Zenas Baptist Church in Jennings County. She survives.

Mr. Daugherty was a 1967 graduate of North Vernon High School in North Vernon, he served in the U. S. Air Force for four years; U.S. Navy for 2 years and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a self-employed truck driver for 27 years retiring in 2003. He was a member of Christ Baptist Church in North Vernon and the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was an Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

Surviving with his wife, Norma Daugherty are a son, Robert (Kimberly) Daugherty of Seymour; daughters, Bliss (Brent) Sutton of North Vernon and Amie (Aaron) Smith of Seymour; brothers, Darryl Rose of Brick, New Jersey and Charles (Genny) Rose of North Vernon; sisters, Caryl (Anthony) Jones and Prim McClellan both of North Vernon; grandchildren, Brechelle (Tyler) Landwehr, Brendan Sutton, Lynex Daugherty all of North Vernon and Jasmine Roberts of Seymour.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Michael Daugherty and a sister, Vicki Gorbett.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Christ Baptist Church in North Vernon with the Rev. Edward Wooddell officiating. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.  Burial will be at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery. Members of the local V.F.W. will provide military rites at the church.
