Darren Deon Patton, 56, of Dupont, passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his residence.
Born July 13, 1962, in Seymour, Darren was the son of Hunter W. and Victoria L. (Phillips) Patton. He married Jennifer Bennett on June 12, 1983, in Vernon, she survives.
Darren attended Dupont Elementary, Madison Consolidated High School and Patriot Truck Driving School. He was an over the road trucker for Mount Trucking in Columbus for ten years, and drove a dump truck for numerous companies, including CTI, St. John Trucking and Lee’s; he had also worked several years for Erler’s Industries. Darren played guitar and sang in numerous bands in the North Vernon, Madison and Scottsburg area. Darren enjoyed hunting, fishing, computer games. He loved spending time with his grandsons.
Surviving with his wife, Jennifer Patton, is a son, Tim (Jonathan Buckler) Patton of Franklin; daughters, Victoria (Chris) Seaborn of Shelbyville and Emily (Alan Grant) Patton of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandsons, Kaiden and Nicholas Seaborn of Shelbyville; brother, William L. Patton of Kentucky; sisters, Vickie (Wayman) Loyd of Indianapolis, and Mary Ruth Cheesebrew of Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hunter Dean Patton; and sister, Donna Mae DeBaun
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont.
Memorials may be made for help with expenses or bring a covered dish for the celebration of life gathering immediately following the committal service at the Dupont Firehouse in Dupont.
