Doris Gallo Obituary

Doris Ethel Gallo, 69, of North Vernon passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.

Born April 4, 1949, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Mrs. Gallo was the daughter of William Harold and Emma LaVonne Dean Warner. She married James “Jim” Gallo on December 27, 1987 in Greensburg, Indiana; he survives.

Mrs. Gallo was a housewife and a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing; watching sci-fi movies, HGTV, and hummingbirds; playing video games on Facebook; listening to rock music; reading the works of Stephen King and James Patterson, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandkids.

Surviving with her husband, James Gallo, are sons Danny Dunn of Lexington, Indiana, Michael (Bobbie) Dunn of Commiskey, Indiana, Jason (CJ) Goodwill of Waterford, Pennsylvania, Vince (Dawn) Gallo of Joliet, Illinois, Mike (Kasey) Gallo of Chapin, South Carolina, Justin Dunn, and Joseph (Barbara) Gallo, both of North Vernon, Indiana; daughters Becky (Stuart) Plovan of Baltimore, Maryland and Melisa Dunn of North Vernon, Indiana; brother Neal Warner of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren Ashley Gallo of Columbus, Indiana, Allison Gallo, Mikey Gallo, both of Chapin, South Carolina, Joe Dunn of Commiskey, Indiana, Katrina LeVack of Butlerville, Indiana, Colton Large of Muncie, Indiana, Steven Plovan and Emily Plovan, both of Baltimore, Maryland, Taylor Dunn of Greensburg, Indiana, Gianna Gallo, Francesca Gallo, both of Joliet, Illinois, Alex Davila of Morris, Illinois, Natalie (Blake) Martin of Channahon, Illinois, Derrick Reed, Shannon (Michael) Biggs, Kayla Dunn, Addilynn Alexander, Samantha Gallo, Emma Gallo, and Brittany Gallo, all of North Vernon, Indiana; great grandchildren Tinslie Biggs, Whaylen Biggs, Bristol Biggs, Briahnna Meredith, and Jazmyn White, all of North Vernon, Indiana; and her dog, Maggie May Gallo of North Vernon, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Gallo III; brothers Oscar Warner, Bucky Warner, Pete Warner, Harold Warner, William Warner, and Raleigh Warner; and sisters Mary Walters and Anita Walters.

A funeral service for Mrs. Gallo will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Father Jerry Byrd officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
