Elinor Bodiford, 75, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at I.U. Health in Indianapolis.
Born December 4, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Elinor was the daughter of the late Jeffery and Lillie (Turner) Morris.
She attended Austin High School in Austin and went on to work for Homes Industries in Scottsburg and as a nurse’s aide at the former Muscatatuck State Development Center in Butlerville. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino boat, shopping, and spending time with her great-granddaughters, Elli, Gracie, and Aubree.
Elinor is survived by her son, Greg (Rhonda) Smith of North Vernon; daughters, Tina Stout, Debbie Smith, and Phyllis (Greg) Blankenbaker, all of North Vernon; grandchildren, Whitney Bowers, Brody Smith, Dylan (Rebecca) Stout, Emily Smith, and Justin Smith, all of North Vernon, Corey Finley, Brittney Finley, and Ryan Finley, all of Seymour, and Wayne Reichard of Kissimmee, Florida; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Morris; and sister, Lucille Creech.
As per the family’s wishes, cremation is planned, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the Muscatatuck County Park Dining Hall from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 4:00 p.m. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Elinor to the donor’s choice of organization.
