Gordon Nicholas Schnadinger, 78, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.
Born June 12, 1940 in Jennings County, Mr. Schnadinger was the son of Henry and Lorena Bland Schnadinger. He married Barbara Beeker Schnadinger on April 29, 1977 in Nashville, Tennessee; she survives.
Mr. Schnadinger graduated from North Vernon High School in 1958 before serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Dupont Water Company where he formerly served as a treasurer. He enjoyed hunting; fishing; boating; camping; and feeding deer, turkey, and birds.
Surviving with his wife, Barbara Beeker Schnadinger, are his sons, Brian (Brenda) Schnadinger of Lexington and Jeff (Stephanie) Fear of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Jenny (Steve) Kessler of Columbus; sister, Shirley (Gene) Hook of North Vernon; grandchildren, Cayla Fear of Jacksonville, Florida, Brandy (Shane) Smith of Edinburg, and Jacob Brockman of Columbus; and great grandchildren, Coltyn Denton, Shaelyn Smith, and Joey Smith, all of Edinburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lorena Bland Schnadinger; sisters, Joan Herche and Alice M. Schnadinger, and son, Keith Schnadinger.
A funeral service for Mr. Schnadinger will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery with VFW Graveside Rites.
