Harry Roderick "Rodey" Mullikin, Sr.

Harry Roderick “Rodey” Mullikin Sr., 77, of North Vernon passed away at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his residence.

Born July 24, 1941 in Jefferson County, Indiana, he was the son of Myron and Elva Barringer Mullikin. He married Lupe Garza. She survives.

“Rodey” was a 1959 graduate of Paris Crossing High School in Paris Crossing and worked in shipping and receiving for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 42 years. He was a member of the Diesel Worker Union. His enjoyments were spending time with his great-grandpig, Luke, attending car shows, woodworking, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, playing euchre and family gathering and holidays.

Surviving with his wife of 31 years, Lupe Mullikin, are sons, Virgil (Debbie) Mullikin and Matthew (Brittany) Fordice both of North Vernon; daughters, Cassey (Neil) Smith, Christina Bottos, Carleena (Leroy) Bertram Sr., and Catonya (Charlie) Patton, all of North Vernon; brother, William “Billy Joe” (Linda) Mullikin of North Vernon; sister, Betty Lou (Carl) Ritchie of Kentucky; grandchildren, Sean Mullikin, and Sara James, both of Lafayette, Jacob Mullikin, Cheyenne Mullikin, Dakota Mullikin, Shawnee Mullikin, MacKenzie Mullikin, Zatoria Bottos, Trinity Bottos, Serenity Bottos, Emma Bottos, Mia Bottos, Maci Bottos, Sandra Combest, Alexus Smith, Darius Smith, Daycen Smith, Demitrus Ewing, Lyric Ewing, Leroy Bertram Jr., Carleesa Bertram, Shane McNulty Jr., Skyler McNulty, Brianna Patton all of North Vernon and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Harry R. Mullikin Jr.; daughter, Mary Elva Mullikin; brother, Raymond Mullikin; and sister, Helen Lee Augustine.

A funeral service for “Rodey” will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
