Irene Jeanette (Miller) Kuntz

Irene Jeanette Kuntz, 69, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood.

Born November 3, 1950, in Scipio, she was the daughter of John Kelly and Lucille (Marksberry) Miller. She married James Kuntz on June 24, 1967 in Jennings County; he preceded her in death on February 20, 2014.

Irene worked as a housekeeper for the former Community Care Center in North Vernon, and as a cashier for Smoker Friendly in North Vernon. She was a member of North Vernon Wesleyan Church and enjoyed fishing, crocheting, working puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, John (Gail) Kuntz, Mark (Melinda) Kuntz and Roy (Donna) Kuntz, all of North Vernon; brother, Doug (Barb) Miller of North Vernon; twelve grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; two brothers; and a great-grandson.

A funeral service for Irene will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Kent Stroud officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.
