James Leland Kuntz, 72, of Butlerville passed away at 4:00 p.m. on June 6, 2018, at his residence.
Born July 23, 1945, Mr. Kuntz was the son of Elmer and Irene Meeker Kuntz. He married Mary Ann Shelton Kuntz in the spring of 1993 in Lawrenceburg; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Kuntz served as a foreman for Lithos Container and owned and operated his own saw mill. He was a member of the North Vernon Senior Center and the North Vernon Christ Baptist Church. He enjoyed cars, trees, music, singing and dancing at the Senior Center, watching Lone Ranger, and spending time with his dog, Noodles.
Surviving Mr. Kuntz is his son, James (Misty) Kuntz of Anderson, Indiana; grandchildren Amanda (Jacob) Tatlock, Leah Davidson, both of Seymour, Indiana, Dylan Burke of Kokomo, Indiana, Isaiah Couch of Anderson, Indiana, and Kristianna (Samuel) Nugent of Elizabethtown, Indiana; great grandchildren Ariella Nugent, Averianna Nugent, both of Elizabethtown, Indiana, and Izabella Couch of Anderson, Indiana; nephew Benny Kuntz of Butlerville, Indiana; and his dog, Noodles, of Butlerville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Shelton Kuntz; parents, Elmer and Irene Meeker Kuntz; and his brothers Jackie Kuntz and Gerald Kuntz.
A funeral service will be conducted for Mr. Kuntz at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Butch Wooddell officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery in Butlerville, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude’s Hospital.
