James Adam Stott

James Adam Stott, 52, of Cloverdale, formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 5:26 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Summerfield Health Campus in Cloverdale.

Born February 5, 1967, in Seymour, he was the son of Jack Lee and Philomena (Coughlin) Lucielle Stott.

James was a diesel mechanic for Givens Truck Service in Norfolk, Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1986 until 1997, serving during the Gulf War.

He is survived by his caregivers and friends at Summerfield Health Campus and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brothers, Danny and Mike Daugherty; and a sister, Vicki Gorbett

A military graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in North Vernon with Chaplain Dennis Ferguson officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
