Jessie Elizabeth Traylor, 92, of North Vernon passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Premier Health Care Center in North Vernon.
Born May 28, 1925, in Jennings County, Mrs. Traylor was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Mary Ellen Black White. She married her first husband Forrest Waples in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1975. She married her second husband Buren “Red” Traylor. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2003.
Mrs. Traylor worked in dietary and as an attendant for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville for 20 years retiring in 1990. She was a member of North Vernon V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Smiling Senior Citizens and Rush Branch United Methodist Church. Mrs. Traylor enjoyed dancing, gardening and going to the activities at the Senior Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Thelma (Steve) Tomlinson of North Vernon, Brenda (Tom) Klingner of Valley View, Texas and Barbara Lynn (Bob) Boggess of South Hubert, North Carolina; sister, Jeanette Kelley of Scipio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; brothers, Ernest, Daniel, Stanley, Nathan and Willard White; sisters, Jean Olds, Nellie Miller, Lora Mae Dean and Alpha Davis and granddaughter, Melissa Tomlinson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018 in the Rush Branch United Methodist Cemetery in Jennings County with the Rev. Marvin Wright officiating. Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service was entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Traylor through the funeral home to American Kidney Foundation.
