Joan Hopkins-Flanery

Joan Hopkins-Flanery, 74, of North Vernon passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born September 4, 1943 in Floyd County, Kentucky, Ms. Hopkins-Flanery was the daughter of Vernon Hopkins and Eva Mae Collett.

Ms. Hopkins-Flanery was a RN graduate of Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky and worked as an RN in Lexington, Kentucky. She was a member of Church of Christ in North Vernon. Ms. Hopkins-Flanery enjoyed playing scrabble and cooking.

She is survived by her brothers, Eddie (Cora) Collett of Magoffin County, Kentucky and Paul (Tammy) Collett of Commiskey; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Leonard Collett and brothers, John and Ronnie Collett.

In keeping with her wishes cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.

Memorials may be made in honor of Ms. Hopkins-Flanery for expenses.
