John Ernest Fair, 56, of North Vernon passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his residence.
Born October 20, 1961 in Seymour, Mr. Fair was the son of the late John R. and Margie Carpenter Fair.
Mr. Fair was a graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as an umpire for 30 plus years at the North Vernon City Park including some high school and college umpiring. He had also been employed at Martinrea International Inc. in North Vernon. He enjoyed watching sports, watching his sons play video games, listening to music and he loved his dogs and taking them for walks.
Survivors include his sons, John Dawson Fair of Fort Wayne and Raymond Fair of North Vernon; former wife, Tammy Fair of North Vernon; sister, Vicki (Jay) Fisher Lerer of Santa Monica, California and nephew, Josef Lerer of Santa Monica, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the North Vernon Parks Baseball Program.
