Lee Reynolds Obituary

Lee A. Reynolds passed away on November 8th, 2019 at the Seymour Crossing nursing facility in Seymour, IN. He will be joining his Lord along with his wife, Mildred J. Reynolds (Grinstead) of 73 in his heavenly home.

Lee was born on January 4th, 1925 in Jennings County, where he lived most of his life. Lee married Mildred J. Grinstead on April 7th, 1945, in Vernon, IN. Lee and his wife had three daughters together, Linda Lamb (Jerry Lamb), Mildred Marie Perry (Buck Perry) and Marcia Olds (Jamie Olds), all of North Vernon.

Through Lee’s adult life, he started out working as a telephone lineman until he married. His other employment included working in a bakery, the Firestone plant in Noblesville, IN, the swing factory in Vernon, IN and his last employment at Arvin Industries in Columbus, IN from September of 1952 until his retirement in January of 1989.

During Lee’s life, he was a devout Christian, a loving husband, father, a grandpa of 7, a great-grandpa of 16 and great-great-grandpa of 2. His grandchildren are as follows: Buck Allen Perry, Tonja Lamb Marsh, Julie Hardebeck, Krista Lamb Lane, Lisa Hudson, Joshua Olds and Jacob Olds. Great Grandchildren include BJ Perry, Jessi Dickmeyer, Danny Ballenger, Ali Henderson, Tucker Marsh, Jordan Sorrels, Sadie Marsh, Brady Lane, Darby Hudson, Levi Marsh, Brock Lane, Carter Hudson, Jenny Lane, Ivy Hudson, August “Auggie” Olds, and Jubilee Olds. Great-Great Grandchildren include Seth Perry, and Greyson Perry.

Lee led a full life. After accepting the Lord, he became a member and later a deacon of the First Christian Church in North Vernon, IN. He later became a member and deacon of Christ’s Way Christian in North Vernon, IN. In later years, he was a member and deacon at the Jennings Church of Christ in North Vernon, IN.

Lee was a devout youth leader while attending his years at the Frist Christian Church and a Boy Scout leader in the community for several years. In Lee’s later years in life, he was a dedicated Hospice volunteer along with his wife.

Lee was the son of Morton Reynolds and Margaret Ora (Kelly) Reynolds, both of North Vernon, IN. Both preceded him in death. He had five brothers, in which four have preceded him in death, Paul Richard Reynolds of North Vernon, IN, Ray Reynolds of North Vernon, IN, William “Bill” Reynolds of Texas, and Kenneth Reynolds of North Vernon, IN. Surviving him in death is one brother, Clarence Reynolds (Mary Koons Reynolds) of Seymour, IN and Alice Amis (Bob Amis) of North Vernon.

A funeral service for Lee will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Jennings Church of Christ with the Rev. Marcus Speer and Rev. Joshua Olds officiating. Family and Friends may call on Monday, November 11, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana or Jennings Church of Christ.
