Lillian Anne Johnson, 70, of North Vernon passed away at 7:17 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019, at her residence.
Born June 27, 1948, in Anderson, she was the daughter of James and Ruby York Warnell. She married George Johnson on November 5, 1966, at the Nazarene Church in North Vernon. He survives.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1966 graduate of North Vernon High School and a graduate of Beauty College in Madison. She operated a beauty shop at her home and was a housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Dupont Baptist Church for 20 years as well as member of the church choir. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, crafts and quilting.
Surviving with her husband, George Johnson, is a son, Tom (Jennifer) Johnson of Dupont; daughter, Melissa (Matthew) Smitha of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Zach LaCroix of North Vernon, Luke Smitha, Taylor Smitha, Tucker Smitha and Blake Smitha, all of Alabama, Laurel Johnson of Scottsburg, and JoBeth Johnson of Dupont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Warnell, Larry Warnell and Virgil Warnell; and sister, Lois Young.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the Dupont Baptist Church in Dupont with the Rev. Don Hamilton officiating. Family and Friends may call at the Dupont Baptist Church on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Hulse Cemetery in Scipio. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of arrangements.
