Lynetta Kay “Lynn” Porter, 53, of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born December 4, 1965, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Steven C. and Kay (Rector) Davers. She married Michael Porter on May 15, 1986, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Easyville; he survives.
Lynn was a 1983 graduate of Brownstown High School and attended Vincennes University. She was a housewife and attended the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon and was a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Easyville. Lynn enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and making zucchini bread.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Porter; sons, Michael Steven Porter and James Porter, both of North Vernon; daughter, Autumn (David) Booth of North Vernon; brothers, James Davers of Jonesville and Damon (Shelly) Davers Sr. of Vernon; grandchildren, Landyn Porter and Christopher, Timothy, Elizabeth, Nathaniel and Zachary Booth, all of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; a granddaughter; and brother, Steven Clyde Davers, Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. Family and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service was entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
