Lynn Edward Thomas, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at his residence.
Born December 12, 1939, in Anderson, he was the son of Charles and Bessie (Campbell) Thomas. He married Wilma Milnes on June 26, 1960, in Columbus, she survives.
Mr. Thomas was a 1958 graduate of Anderson High School in Anderson and a 1960 graduate of Porter College in Indianapolis. He worked in maintenance for CSL (Country Squire Lakes), a guard for Ceraland Park in Columbus, and 40 years in data processing and computer programming for Thompson/RCA in Indianapolis retiring in 2001. Mr. Thomas was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon and enjoyed model trains, RC Cars, smoking a pipe, Atlanta Braves baseball and studying the Bible.
Surviving with his wife, Wilma Thomas are sons, Ethan (Mary) Thomas of Pasadena, Maryland, Keith Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida and Phil (Shannon) Thomas of North Vernon; daughter, Tammera Burke of North Vernon; brother, Jerry Dee (Carolyn) Thomas of Anderson; grandchildren, Brandon Thomas of Maryland, Jason Thomas of Kansas, Jeffery Burke, Chad (Sarah) Thomas, Shae Thomas all of North Vernon, Todd (Ashley) Thomas and Ashley Thomas both of Florida; eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa Shirk.
Private services will be conducted at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
