Marilyn Kay Moir, 79, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at her residence.
Born July 7, 1940, in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marie Haston. She married Conrad Lee Moir on May 22, 1981, in Jennings County; he preceded her in death on April 9, 2007.
Mrs. Moir was a 1959 graduate of North Vernon High School and the owner of Moir Apartments for several years and a farmer, she was known as “The Egg Lady.” She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon and a former Sunday school teacher at Rock Creek Church. Mrs. Moir enjoyed going out to eat at diners, attending Scipio auctions, collecting clocks, cats and listening to Hayden bluegrass music.
She is survived by sons, Robin (Pam) Moir of Ben Wheeler, Texas and Terrin Moir of North Vernon; daughter, Joy (David) Doup of North Vernon; grandchildren, Regina (Jason) Warren, of League City, Texas, Brandy Rast of Tomball, Texas, Sean Moir of Bloomington, A.J. Moir of Plainfield, Scott Moir of Indianapolis, Brian (Lynde) Doup of Seymour, Phillip (Megan) Doup of Columbus, Belinda (Bruce) McIntosh, and Kelly (Regina) Heagle, all of Columbus and Sir Anthony Moir of Cochran, Georgia; fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Kevin and Colin Moir; grandson Robin Moir Jr. and an infant brother.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Reddington Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
