Mary Evaline Colvin

Mary Evaline Colvin, 58, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born October 1, 1959, in Seymour; Ms. Colvin was the daughter of Harold F. Colvin and the late Mary V. Tando Colvin.

Ms. Colvin was a 1978 graduate of Jennings County High School. She worked for Lane Bryant in Edinburgh and Cato in Columbus for six years, and had worked eight years as a CNA for Columbus Regional Hospital. She was a member of Community Church of Columbus and the Hayden Chapter #253 Order of the Eastern Star. Ms. Colvin enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her son, Chad (Kristen Lavanway) Shade of Columbus; father, Harold F. Colvin of Henryville; brother, Harold William Scott Colvin of Seymour; sisters, Virginia Colvin of Seymour, and Cherrie (Arlan) Caffee of Henryville; and grandchildren, Tyson and Savanna Lavanway of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, David Colvin.

A visitation for Ms. Colvin will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Community Church of Columbus in Columbus with a closing prayer at 4:00 p.m.  Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Scipio.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Community Church of Columbus or Expenses.
