Mary Ann Hatfield, 80, of Columbus, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born October 1, 1938, in Blytheville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Floyd and Mavis Elroy Sisson. She married William J. Hatfield on October 3, 1957 in Greenfield; he survives.
Mrs. Hatfield was a 1956 graduate of Greenfield High School in Greenfield and was employed in admissions at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus for 17 years; she had previously worked for J.C. Penney’s for one year and Lowe's in Jefferson City, Tennessee for one year. She enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Hatfield of Columbus, sons, Michael (Carolyn) Hatfield, and James Hatfield, both of Seymour, William K. (Cindy) Hatfield of Florida, and George (Mary) Hatfield of Columbus; two sisters, Barbara Coyle and Jenny Hagg, both of Greenfield; grandchildren, Amber (Craig) Owens, Brittany Waterman, and Dylan Hatfield, all of North Vernon, Ashley (Brett) Schultz and Abigail Hatfield, both of Seymour, Josie (Woody) Young of Louisville, Kentucky; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Marcus and Floyd Sisson Jr.
A funeral service for Mrs. Hatfield will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Waverly, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
