Patricia “Diana” Green, 82, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:27 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at her residence.
Born May 15, 1936, in their family farm house in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Edwin Law and Ella Gene (Thomas) Green.
Diana was the co-owner of Goodies to Go and worked as a DST/Supervisor for 35 years with the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville. She was a member of Tea Creek Baptist Church, North Vernon Farmers Market and, when she was younger. a 4H Leader. Diana was a very proud, hard-working, independent woman who loved spending time with her granddaughter, Lydia, and rescuing animals. Diana also loved the children she cared for at Muscatatuck. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and watching professional wrestling.
Survivors include her son, Tyrone “Ty” Green of North Vernon; granddaughters, Lydia Baker of Columbus and Addy Brooks of Madison; brother-in-law, John Broyles of Plainfield; and niece, Tonya Broyles of Plainfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Rheta Ruth Green and Anita Sue Broyles.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Tea Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Special Olympics.
