Raymond Anthony Hoover

Raymond Anthony Hoover, 68, of North Vernon passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born September 7, 1949 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Mr. Hoover was the son of Howard and Regina Burket Hoover. He married Deborah Yeager on February 2, 2002 at their home in North Vernon. She survives.

Mr. Hoover served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 until 1972. He was the administrator and member of the Moose Lodge in North Vernon and worked tech support for F.P Technologies in Ohio for 40 years. Mr. Hoover enjoyed playing musical instruments and singing. He will be missed by his beloved dogs, Amzi and Finn and the stray cat at top of the stairs. 

Surviving with his wife, Deborah Hoover are sons, Russell (Amy) Hoover of California, Jamey Gibson of North Vernon and Tracey (Christina) Gibson II of Marietta, Georgia; daughters, Stacey (Mike) King of Commiskey, Tricia Sheehan and Paula (Rex) Hoover both of California; numerous brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Christian (Amber) Ruddick and Amanda Ruddick both of Commiskey, Tracey Gibson III and Casey Gibson of Marietta, Georgia, Brody Sheehan, Baxter Sheehan, Reily Sheehan and Quinn Sheehan all of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service for Mr. Hoover will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with Stacey King officiating and a Moose Lodge Memorial by members of North Vernon Moose Lodge. Family and friends may call on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon with military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to North Vernon Moose Lodge.
