Robert “Bob” Matthew Cywinski Jr., 67, of Butlerville, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at his residence.
Born March 9, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert M. Cywinski Sr. and Lona (Preston) Cywinski.
Mr. Cywinski graduated from Seneca High School in Louisville in 1971 and went on to serve in the National Guard. Mr. Cywinski worked as a Tool and Die maker for over 30 years; one of the places he worked for was Kamman’s Tool and Die in North Vernon. He attended Crossroads Community Church in Jennings County, and was a former member of the #398 Moose Lodge in Columbus. He was a UK fan and enjoyed playing euchre and cornhole, fishing, camping, and listening to rock-and-roll music.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn (John) Staples of Butlerville, Indiana; sister, Debbie (John) Masden of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren including three locally: Susan Staples of Versailles, and Nathaniel and Sean Staples, both of Butlerville; two nephews; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Mr. Cywinski will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. There will be a celebration of life with dinner and refreshments at the Moose Lodge in Columbus immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mr. Cywinski through the funeral home to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
