Roger Lee Anderson, 75, of Scipio, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019, at his residence.
Born April 7, 1944, in Clintwood, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charlie E. and Edith (DeLoch) Anderson. He married Wilma Roe on September 3, 1979, in Clintwood, Virginia; she survives.
Roger was a 1963 graduate of Clintwood High School in Clintwood, Virginia and worked maintenance/electrician for Dolly Madison Bakery in Columbus retiring in 2009 after 20 years; and had previously worked maintenance/electrician for Arvin’s in Columbus for 20 years. He was a former member of North Vernon Moose Lodge and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving with his wife, Wilma Anderson of Scipio, are sons, Roger (Sherry) Anderson of Liberty Hill, Texas and Brian Anderson of Lakeland, Florida; brother, Charles (Angeline) Anderson Jr. of Dearborn, Michigan and Doug (Robert) Anderson of Florida; grandchildren, Dalton Anderson and Grace Anderson, both of Columbus, and Marisa Anderson of Burlington, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 5, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
