Rory D. Foist, 55, of Scipio, passed away on May 11, 2019 at his residence.
Born September 12, 1963 in Columbus, Rory was the son of the late Ronald Wayne and Bonnie Jean (Robison) Foist.
Rory was the former owner of Alexander’s Grocery and Scipio Garage, both in Scipio, and he worked for the Highway Department in Jennings County. He enjoyed cruising, farming, the outdoors, and watching NASCAR and auto racing.
He is survived by his daughters, Kristen (Tyler) Bannister of Hayden, Brandi Foist of Scipio, and Heather (Amos) Fox of El Paso, Texas; son, Tanner (Lily) Foist of Rainier, Washington; brothers, Scott (Toni) Foist of Scipio and Tony Foist of Columbus; sisters, Marcia Thompson of Scipio and Jill (Jim) Ross of North Vernon; and grandchildren, Kalissa “Kali” Thompson and Brady Bannister, both of Hayden, Emily Lee, Dalton Lee, Lucas Wilkerson, and Lauryn Wilkerson, all of Scipio, and Elizabeth Fox, Caroline Fox, and Phoenix Fox, all of El Paso, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Cory Foist; and grandson, Abrams Fox.
A funeral service for Rory will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with his children officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 and hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery.
