Sandra Lee “Cindy” Corya, 67, of Commiskey, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Born January 24, 1951, in Madison, Mrs. Corya was the daughter of Wilbur Johnce and Hazel Boldery Davis. She married Mike Corya on May 27, 1972, in Commiskey. He survives.
Mrs. Corya was a 1970 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School in Madison and worked on the factory line for Martinrea for 28 years. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Corya was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and poker, going to farmers market, attending truck and tractor pulls, she loved attending all car shows and her most important thing was her love for helping people.
Surviving with her husband, Mike Corya and son, Michael Lee (Jeanette) Corya Jr., of Commiskey are three grandchildren, Michael W. Corya, Joseph T. Corya and Mark D. Corya all of Commiskey.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Russell and Wilbur Davis Jr.
A funeral service for Mrs. Corya will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery in Commiskey.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Corya through the funeral home to the Cindy Corya Foundation (a fund being set up to help families traveling for sickness with traveling funds.)
