Sherry Dale White

Sherry Dale White, 67, of North Vernon, passed away at 9:49 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at her residence.

Born August 16, 1952, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Ernest Charles and Juanita (Gultett) Hildreth. She married James White on October 19, 1984, he preceded her in death on October 13, 2013.

Sherry was a homemaker and had previously worked for Dixons Christian Warehouse in Seymour for five years. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Matthew White of North Vernon; daughters, Lori (Todd) Whitfield of Sellersburg, and Stephanie (Dennis) Hobbs of North Vernon; brothers, Stephen (Susie) Hildreth of Jonesville and Doug Hildreth of Paoli; sister, Pauletta (Paul) Sturdevant of Hayden; grandchildren, Sebastian White, Christian Saylor, Elijah Hobbs, Gracey Hobbs, and Chelsie (Bobby) Cook, all of North Vernon, Lindsay (Jonathan) Paris of New Albany and Spencer Whitfield of Sellersburg; great-grandchildren, Evelynn Cook, Robert Cook, and Landon Chalut all of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and sisters, Rosie Goforth, Janet Sherman, and Judy Smith.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday, November 4, 2019, in the Hayden Cemetery in Hayden with Dan Coblentz officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Diabetes or the Disabled American Veterans.
