Thomas Lee Mattingly, 69, of Butlerville passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
Born December 5, 1948 in Franklin, Mr. Mattingly was the son of Richard Dwayne and Berneta Louise Speer Mattingly. He married Brenda Kay Trowbridge on March 10, 1979 at the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon. She survives.
Mr. Mattingly was a 1967 graduate of Triton High School in Shelby County and a 2001graduate Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He was currently serving as the minister for Graham Baptist Church and was a Union Carpenter for 30 years. He was a member of Dupont Lodge #419, F&AM in Dupont and Carpenter’s Union #135. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, gardening, helping others, his church family and he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife, Brenda Kay Mattingly are daughters, Amanda (Thomas) Vogel, and Tracy Dilk both of North Vernon, Sandy (Tim) Maschino of Butlerville, and Stacy (Nicole Rodgers) Turner Alaniz of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters, Pamela Ann and Peggy Sue Mattingly; grandchildren, Derek (Ashley) Gerth of Seymour, Amber (Elizabeth) Alaniz and Tyler “T” Alaniz both of Wichita Falls, Texas, Clayton Royalty of Butlerville, Tony “Herb” Dilk, Kimberly Dilk, Daniel Thomas (Shelby Luhn) Vogel, Sara Louise “Weezer” (Jason Judd) Vogel, Liz Maschino and Dan Maschino all of North Vernon; great-grandchildren, Cruz Alaniz of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ava Gerth, Bella Campbell, Aubreigh Gerth and Kylie Gerth all of Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael Dwayne and Robert Eugene Mattingly.
A funeral service for Mr. Mattingly will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, Graham Baptist Church in Butlerville. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon on Monday. May 14, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Church. Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by member of Dupont Lodge #419 at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Graham Baptist Cemetery.
