Tia Summers Obituary

Tia Kay Summers, 44, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born September 18, 1974, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of William Shepherd Sr. and Brenda (Mullins) Shepherd. She married Robert Summers Jr. on April 13, 1996 in Indianapolis; he survives.

Tia attended Cloverdale High School in Cloverdale and was a housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and the outdoors.

Surviving with her husband is her son, Robert Summers III of North Vernon; daughters, Jodicie (Jason) Underwood of Rockville and Harlee Summers of North Vernon; brother, William (Jean) Shepherd Jr. of Rockville; sister, Beth Hartman of Indianapolis; and grandchild, Wyatt Underwood of Rockville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation is planned, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.

Memorials may be made in honor of Tia through the funeral home to help cover expenses.
