Virginia Palmer, 94, of North Vernon formerly of Elkhart passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at her residence.
Born January 29, 1924, in Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. Palmer was the daughter of William and Gertrude Sampson Daneker. She married Earl E. Palmer in 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland; he preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Palmer was a High School graduate in Baltimore, Maryland and worked as a laborer and quality control for Miles Laboratory for 36 ½ years, she had previously worked for Ames Medical Equipment as a troubleshooter. She was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a former Sunday school teacher for Calvary United Methodist Church in Elkhart. Mrs. Palmer was attending Scipio Presbyterian Church in Scipio. She enjoyed flower gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (James) Krider of North Vernon; grandchildren, David (Susan) Krider of Columbus and Laura Coil of Huntsville, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Emily Krider, Aaron Krider and Logan Krider all of Columbus, Jacob Coil and Mya Coil of Huntsville, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and three sisters.
In keeping with her wishes cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
