Aaron Joseph Spencer, 47, of Scipio, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born June 10, 1974, in Bartholomew County, the son of Larry Spencer and Patricia “Trish” (Clements) Begley. He married Elvey Petro on November 7, 2003, at the courthouse in Vernon; she survives
Aaron was truck driver and loader operator for DSI. He enjoyed building houses out of popsicle sticks, animals, fishing, gaming and mechanical work.
Surviving with his wife, Elvey; are his sons, Anthony Griffith and Cody Griffith, both of North Vernon, A.J. Spencer and J.D. Spencer, both of Scipio; daughters, Payton McClintock of Columbus and Krissa Spencer of Scipio; parents, Larry (Sandy) Spencer of North Vernon, Trish (Sarge) Begley of Crothersville; step-son, Jimmy King of Scipio; brother, Zachary Spencer of North Vernon; sisters, Amy Spencer and Amanda Spencer, both of Columbus; step-sisters, Christy Little of North Vernon and Angel Wright of Holton; seven grandchildren; and the Petro family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Allean Spencer, Frances Clements and Deloris Dickson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Elder Sarge Begley officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.
Memorials in honor of Aaron may be made through the funeral home to help with the expenses.
