Adell L. (Jones) Ashpaugh

Adell L. Ashpaugh, 99, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at her residence.

Born October 15, 1920, in Albany, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ida (Sheffield) Jones. She married Charles Ashpaugh on March 2, 1942 in Tipton County; he preceded her in death on January 3, 1988.

Adell retired from the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Hospital in Butlerville where she worked as an attendant. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and quilting.

Survivors include her sons, Larry (Margaret Rose) Ashpaugh and Gary Ashpaugh, both of North Vernon; daughters, Mary Ashpaugh and Sherry Hill, both of North Vernon; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ida Jones; husband, Charles Ashpaugh; son, Jerry Ashpaugh and several brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Edward Wooddell. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 6, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
