Albert Love Obituary

Albert Lee Love, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020, at his residence.

 

Born December 24, 1936, in Muncie, he was the son of Henry C. Love and Neva L. (Brandenburg) Love-Covey. He married Judith “Judy” Ann (Bunch) Love on August 17, 1974, in New Albany. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2019.

 

Albert graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1956 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an electrician at Reedy Electric in Brownstown for 20 years before retiring in 1998. He also worked for Triple S. Ranch in North Vernon and as a substitute teacher for Hayden Elementary School. Albert was a member of the Hayden Methodist Church, National Cutting Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Six Mile Masonic Lodge #412 in Hayden, and Palomino Horse Breeders of America in addition to being a licensed judge for Palomino and American Quarter Horses and a licensed 4-H judge. Albert loved horses and rode professionally. He trained horses as well as riders, having coached numerous young horse riders.

 

Albert is survived by his son, Alex (Amanda) Love of Evansville; brothers, Michael (Nancy) Covey of Texas and David Covey of Eaton; and sisters, Vivian Clevenger and Bonnie Martinez, both of Hartford City.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

 

A funeral service for Albert will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Hayden Methodist Church in Hayden with Rev. Matt Snodgrass and Rev. Michael Seaney officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. on Friday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Hayden Cemetery. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.

 

In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only 50 people will be allowed in the church during visitation at a time. We thank our families for their continued cooperation during these difficult times as we strive to help keep our community safe. Masks are required.

 

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Albert to the National Cutting Horse Scholarship Fund, the American Quarter Horse Scholarship Fund, or to the Hayden History Museum.
