Alice "Toodie" Louise (Clark) Gahimer

Alice “Toodie” Louise Gahimer, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:13 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Autumn Trace in North Vernon.

Born December 18, 1936, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Dallas C. and Bessie Marie (Gong) Clark. She married Bruce Gahimer on August 31, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on June 25, 2005.

Mrs. Gahimer graduated from North Vernon High School in 1955. She had worked for the Cummins Engine Company, and later retired from North Vernon Utilities in 2006 after having worked there for 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Vernon and enjoyed listening to Christmas music, reading, and doing yardwork, particularly mowing the lawn. She was also a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

She is survived by her sons, Rollie (Eva) Gahimer of Indianapolis and Troy (Marcia) Gahimer of Medora; daughters, Pam Rees of North Vernon and Alicia (Sally Smith) Gahimer of Indianapolis; sister, Janice Clark of North Vernon; grandchildren, Nicole Rees of North Vernon, Beth (Seth) Clark of Franklin, Jordan (Jared) Owens of Greensburg, Maria (Jacob) Grove and Jessy Gahimer, both of Medora, and Sarah (James) Reppart of Little Elm, Texas; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, David Clark; and sister, Carolyn Ochs.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Gahimer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020 at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Family and friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2020. In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only ten people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time.
