Amy Elizabeth Thompson Lewis, 54, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on April 14, 2026, at her residence.
Born June 6, 1971, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Patricia Ellen (Robbins) Robertson and the late Dale Lee Thompson.
Amy was a 1990 graduate of Jennings County High School and a 1992 graduate of Indiana Business College with an associate’s degree. She worked for 36 years at the Jay C Food Store. Amy loved flowers and enjoyed gardening, mowing grass, kayaking, being outdoors and taking long trail walks through the woods.
Surviving with her mother, Patricia “Patti” Robertson and her husband Bill of North Vernon; is her stepmother, Danilee Thompson of North Vernon; her special friend, Mike Watkins; her niece, Kali Thompson of Indianapolis; and several cousins, and three aunts.
She was preceded in death by her father Dale Thompson on August 20, 2019; her daughter, Kaitlyn Marie Ann Lewis on October 18, 2022; and her brother, Gregory D. “Houch” Thompson on August 14, 2014.
A funeral service for Amy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Nick Wilson officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Amy to Susan B. Koman for Breast Cancer Research or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
