Asa Williams, 84, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, at his residence.
Born May 16, 1937, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Ermon and Bessie (McGuire) Williams. He married Patricia Pearson on March 12, 1982, in Tennessee; she survives.
Asa served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. He was a self-employed electrician for 40 years and had worked loading truck for one year at Lowes Distribution Center in North Vernon and worked three years at Impact Forge in Columbus. He was a member of Christ Baptist Church in North Vernon and enjoyed fishing, telling jokes and stories, working on cars and spending time with his grandkids.
Surviving with his wife, Patricia are sons, Asa (Peggy) Williams Jr., of Columbus, Robert Williams, Larry (Chrystal) Jansen, Ronnie (Joann) Jansen, David Ashpaugh and Donnie Mollenhoff, all of North Vernon; daughters, Edna Williams of North Vernon, Robin Huchstep and Sheila Godbey, both of Virginia; brother, Ermon Williams Jr. of Lebanon, Ohio; sister, Edna Williams of Deputy; grandchildren, Hannah, Hannah, Christopher, J.J., Rachael, Kayla, Josh, Jonny, Matthew, Kelly, Xavier, Shealynn, Cali and Khayne; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bill and Harold Williams.
A closing prayer will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until time of closing prayer.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Asa to help with expenses.
