Aubra Browning Obituary

Aubra Mondal Browning, 85, of Madison, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born November 7, 1938, in Pineville, Kentucky, he was the son of Estel T. and Lorene (Eads) Browning. He married Gloria Monday on December 22, 1981, in Cicero; she survives.

Aubra received his GED in 1960 from Hamilton Heights High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1961. He worked for General Motors for 31 years before retiring. Aubra was a member of Christ Community Church in Butlerville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood crafting, and gunsmithing.

Surviving with his wife, Gloria, are his sons, Thomas Allen (Rachel) Browning of Butlerville and Donald (Darla) Trowbridge of Commiskey; brother, Coy (Sue) Browning of Cicero; sister-in-law, Vickie Browning of Arcadia; grandchildren, Natasha Trowbridge of Commiskey and Rowan Browning of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Adrianna Trowbridge and Melanie Thompson, both of Commiskey, Hadley Burress and Maverick Burress, both of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Denver L., Thomas, and Gary Browning, and sister, Sandra Bergstrom.

A funeral service for Aubra will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will follow in the Rush Branch Methodist Cemetery in Jennings County, with military graveside honors by members of Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W.

Memorials may be made in honor of Aubra through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County or Christ Community Church.
