Barbara Jo (Luedeman) Grove

Barbara Jo Grove, 72, of Commiskey, passed away at 2:35 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at her residence.

Born November 27, 1951, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Marling) Luedeman. She married James Michael Grove on September 6, 1971, at the Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing; he survives.

Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Crothersville High School and worked on the farm. She had also worked as a sub clerk and rural carrier for the US Post Office for 12 years, Graham Creek Elementary in Kindergarten for four years and Dixon Publishing in Seymour. Barbara played piano for 50 years at Coffee Creek Christian Church. She enjoyed playing piano and sewing cross stitch.

Surviving with her husband, James; are her son, Jacob (Maria) Grove of Medora; her daughters, Laura Collins of Medora and Susan (Jeremy) Suhre of Commiskey; brothers, Paul Luedeman and Mark (Linda) Luedeman both of Crothersville; sisters, Judy (Ralph) Hillenburg and Marilyn Hooser, both of Crothersville and Lucille (Glen) Metz of Uniontown; grandchildren, Matthew (Baileigh) Collins of Deputy, and Lincoln Suhre and Layne (Delaynee McCreary) Suhre, both of Commiskey, Kylie Grove, Kade Grove, and Kody Grove, all of Medora and Kimberly (Shane) Collier of Seymour; and great-grandchildren, Easton Collins, Elsie Collins and Eila Collins, all of Deputy and Jaxon Moore of Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant children; grandchild, Layton Suhre and great-grandchild, Willow Collier.  

A funeral service for Barbara will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will follow in the Cana Cemetery in Paris Crossing.

Memorials may be made in honor of Barbara through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Coffee Creek Christian Church.
