Barbara Watts, 70, of Hyden, Kentucky, passed away at 9:11 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Majestic Care of North Vernon in North Vernon, Indiana.
Born August 19, 1952, in Letcher County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Willard and Bertha (Neace) Watts.
Barbara worked for American Linen in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a member of Premium Baptist Church in Premium, Kentucky. She enjoyed playing bingo and attending church functions.
She is survived by her son, Junior Cowles of Indianapolis, Indiana; her daughter, Tina Williamson of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Manuel (Jeanette) Watts of Westport, Indiana, Freddie Watts of Premium, Kentucky and Tony (Betty) Watts of Jeremiah, Kentucky; sisters, Beulah (Lawrence) Montgomery of North Vernon, Indiana, Mary (Larry) Jones of Hyden, Kentucky, and Judy (Ray) Frodge of Taylorsville, Indiana; grandchildren Kayla Williamson of Bloomington, Indiana and Crissa Williamson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Watts; and sisters, Helen Mayfield, Linda Watts, Brenda Watts and Sarah Watts.
A funeral service for Barbara will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon, Indiana. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.
