Bertha Marie Coon

Bertha Marie Coon, 92, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

Born January 27, 1930, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of the late William Samuel and Minnie (Hatfield) Coon.  

Bertha was a 1948 graduate of Scipio High School and worked on the assembly line for ITT Industries in North Vernon and Delta Faucet in Greensburg. She was a member of Wilson Chapel Church in Elizabethtown. Bertha enjoyed coloring and word search puzzles.

She is survived by her caregivers, Terrie and Jerry Barber of North Vernon; nephews; and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Samuel, William, and Clyde Coon; and sisters, Mary Margaret Wheeler and Maxine Joan Hayes.  

A funeral service for Bertha will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. A burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Scipio.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bertha through the funeral home to Majestic Care for the Activity Fund.
