Bette Lou Littell, 89, of Vernon, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Majestic Care in North Vernon, Indiana.
Born October 5, 1930, in Kurtz, Jackson County, the daughter of Charles and Audrey (Fish) Bevers. She married Donnell Ray Littell on December 30, 1965, in Columbus; he preceded her in death on September 12, 2015.
Bette was a 1948 graduate of Clear Spring High School in Jackson County, and was the owner and operator of Heritage Crafters in Vernon, from 1980 until 2004 and had previously worked in accounting for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 30 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge in North Vernon, and Vernon Homemakers Club in Vernon. She attended First Christian Church in North Vernon. Bette enjoyed crafts, teaching spinning wheel classes at Vernon and teaching literacy classes at Jennings County Public Library.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Larry) Bannister of North Vernon; brothers, Rick Bevers of Bedford, and Carl (Ann) Bevers of Chicago, Illinois; granddaughter, Tonia (Ryan) Barberis of North Vernon and great-grandchildren, Christian and Audrey Redmond, both of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Samuel Ray Littell; daughter, Tina Littell; brothers, Morris “Bud” and Gary Bevers; and sister, Wilma Bevers.
A funeral for Bette will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Larry McIntosh officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
