Beverly Sue (Dean) Davis

Beverly Sue Davis, 69, of New Albany, formerly of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020, at her residence.

Born April 14, 1951, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Norman E. and Iva Pearl (Stinson) Dean. She married Mark Davis on February 5, 1971, at the Scipio United Methodist Church in Scipio; he survives.

Beverly was a 1969 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked in the office for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a former member of Scipio United Methodist Church in Scipio and the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon and was a member of Cummins Office Committee Union. Beverly enjoyed reading poetry and watching her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband, Mark Davis of New Albany; daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Davis-Houchen of New Albany; brother, Walter E. (Liz) Dean of Columbus; sister, Norma (Morris) Wildey of North Vernon; grandchildren, Sophia Reisert and Henry Houchen both of New Albany.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Peggy Newland.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Kendall Wildey officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 11, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Beverly through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.
