Billy Craft Obituary

Billy Don Craft, 84, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:57 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at his residence.

Born September 5, 1938, in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of James and Pearlie (Stallard) Craft. He married Sonya Yvonne Webb on June 10, 1960, in North Vernon; she preceded him in death on May 27, 2016.

Billy was a 1955 graduate and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1978. He worked maintenance for Golden Foundry in Columbus for 20 years. Billy enjoyed riding ATV’s, going to the casino’s and family time.

Survivors include his sons, Billy Craft and Kevin Craft, both of North Vernon and Daniel (Marilyn) Craft of Grovertown; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Kenneth, Dennis and Roy Craft; and sister, Betty Downey.

A graveside service for Billy will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in the Hayden Cemetery in Hayden with Rev. Jim Terry officiating and military graveside rites by members of Matt Hester Post #2021, V.F.W. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Billy through the funeral home to the Wounded Warrior Project.
