Bobby Dean Halfacre, 69, of Deputy, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky
Born February 8, 1954, in Hyden, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Edward and Edra (Bowling) Halfacre. He married Lawanda (Briner) Halfacre on July 4, 1994, in Hanover; she survives.
Bobby worked as a painter at Bailey Manufacturing in Madison and also worked for Halfacre Brothers Mobile Home Service in Deputy. He enjoyed gardening, riding 4-Wheelers, fixing watches, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife are his sons, Mike (Allison) Wooten of North Vernon, Brian (Andrea) Wooten of Madison, and Benjamin (Ashley) Wooten of Destin, Florida; daughter, Karen Lucas of Madison; brothers, Billy (Rhea) Halfacre of Commiskey and Steve Halfacre of Deputy; sisters, Janice (Steve) Day of Deputy and Teresa (Matt) Hotek of Columbus; grandchildren, Bryce Wooten, Emma Wooten, Isabella Rhyne, and Sophia Wooten, all of Madison, Katelyn Wooten, Brooklyn Wooten, Tori Smith, and Alexis Smith, all of North Vernon, and David Devries and Bradley Devries, both of Indianapolis; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel Halfacre.
A funeral service for Bobby will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday, March 6, 2023, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home in honor of Bobby to the Alzheimer’s Association.
